Inspire discovery with your support

Help engage and educate visitors about life in the natural world, inspire current and future generations of scientists, and establish an enduring legacy of academic and scientific excellence.

A New Beginning

For more than 85 years, Texas Science & Natural History Museum has told the stories of our state’s rich natural history and life on Earth. We’re extremely proud of our past and even more excited about our future.

The museum is being reimagined as a showcase for science and natural history, honoring the history of its beautiful building and foundational fossil and wildlife collections, while embracing innovative science research and technologies through new interactive exhibits. Since reopening in September 2023, the museum has welcomed more than 100,000 visitors from across Texas, all 50 states and 28 countries. More than 400 preK-12 schools and community groups have toured the museum, 100+ rental events have engaged thousands of guests and sales in the Museum Store are strong.

Texas Science & Natural History Museum is a self-supporting unit of The University of Texas at Austin and depends on the philanthropic support of members and donors. We are seeking philanthropic partners to continue the museum’s revitalization as a premier destination on the UT campus that offers compelling educational experiences for today’s audiences. You can make a gift today, support the museum through an annual membership or contact our director of development Maggie Gilburg to get involved.
