Opening May 24 on the museum’s fourth floor, Masters of the Night: The True Story of Bats challenges long-held myths and reveals how bats help sustain ecosystems around the world. Through lifelike models, engaging interactives and compelling storytelling, visitors will learn how bats pollinate plants, regenerate rainforests and help maintain balanced insect populations.

The exhibit also explores Austin’s unique connection to bats as the “Bat Capital of the World” and home to one of the largest urban bat colonies on Earth.

Designed for curious minds of all ages, the exhibit invites visitors to look more closely at one of nature’s most misunderstood animals and gain a deeper appreciation for the important roles bats play in the natural world.
