Cool off this July with a series of pop-up activities all about the Ice Ages—plus enjoy the museum’s excellent air conditioning while you’re at it!

Discover what life was like during the Ice Ages through hands-on experiences and family-friendly activities:

  • Story Time | 10:15 – 10:45 a.m.
    Settle in for a story about different Ice Age creatures and imagine what summertime was like during the Pleistocene.
  • Fossil Exploration | 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
    Meet a paleontologist and get up close with Ice Age fossils—including mammoth and mastodon specimens.
  • Ice Age Art Studio | 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
    Take a cue from Ice Age artists and draw your own version of ancient animals using provided materials.

Plus, take 10% off Ice Age-themed merchandise in the Museum Store. Activities take place on the museum’s first (ground) floor on Tuesday, July 8, 15, 22 and 29 and are included with admission. Great for families and curious visitors of all ages!
