Join us for a free public program exploring the fascinating world of bees with Dr. Shalene Jha, professor of integrative biology at The University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Jha’s research examines how different types of bees and plants interact across natural, agricultural and urban landscapes—and how those relationships can guide efforts to promote pollinator diversity and prevent population decline.
Texas is home to nearly 1,200 species of native bees, many of which are vital pollinators for crops such as cotton and squash. This engaging talk will shed light on their incredible variety, behavior and importance to our ecosystems.
Museum members will receive early registration access via email. Additional registration details will be added at a later date.
