**Validated parking is available at San Jacinto Garage, Manor Garage and 27th Street Garage unless a particular garage has been rented out by another unit on campus  at that time. For example, if Texas Performing Arts rents out San Jacinto Garage for a musical performance, we cannot validate member parking for San Jacinto Garage.

Frequently Asked Questions

Once you become a member, you will receive an email with a link to download your digital membership card, which you will place in your smartphone’s wallet. Printed membership cards are also available upon request.

To redeem your free admission, simply present your member card at the check-in desk or share the member household name along with photo ID to museum staff.

All members of Texas Science & Natural History Museum get two free hours of validated parking* in the San Jacinto Garage at 2400 San Jacinto Boulevard when they visit the museum. Please note that San Jacinto Garage has a 6-foot-11-inch height restriction.

If that garage is full, members can park in the Manor Garage or 27th Street Garage and receive validation during their museum visit.

How to park and validate:

Enter the San Jacinto Garage either on the San Jacinto Boulevard or Trinity Street entrance. Upon entry, take a ticket from the pay station. You must bring this ticket into Texas Science & Natural History Museum to receive the parking validation.

Present your ticket to museum staff in the Museum Store at the end of your visit.

Once your ticket is validated, you will scan the QR code on the ticket at the pay station at the garage exit. If you have stayed longer than two hours, you will need to pay any remaining balance.

*Restrictions

The UT campus is a busy place, and Texas Science and Natural History museum does not control University events that may affect garages. Please note: We cannot offer validated parking if a garage is rented out or closed in the following scenarios:

  • Events at Texas Performing Arts
  • Texas Football home games (the museum will also be closed)
  • University events, including graduation, orientation, move-in day, Career Day
  • Sporting events, including UIL Track and Field meets
  • Other public and private events

For members at the Household level and up, you will receive guest passes with your member cards.

  • Guest passes can be given to anyone.
  • Members do not need to be present with the recipient of their guest pass. Guest passes are meant for anyone to be able to visit the museum.
  • Guest passes must be presented in person and cannot be redeemed online.
  •  Guest passes are good for one (1) general admission to Texas Science & Natural History Museum.
  • Great for gifts!
  • Please write the Member Household name on the back of your guest passes in the “FROM” field.

Members at the Household level and up are enrolled in the reciprocal museum associations North American Reciprocal Museum Association (NARM) and the Association of Science and Technology Centers (ASTC).

Reciprocal museum associations are good for free and discounted museum admission when you travel.

  • NARM benefits do not include institutions within 15 miles of your home address and home institution.
  • ASTC Passport Program benefits do not include institutions within 90 miles of your home address or home institution.
  • This means reciprocal benefits may not be used at museums such as the Blanton Museum of Art, the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum, the Contemporary Austin, Laguna Gloria, etc.
  • Texas Science & Natural History Museum does not accept reciprocal admissions from home institutions within this radius.

Each museum has its own reciprocal museum association restrictions. Please check the NARM and ASTC websites before you travel.
